Tuesday evening, thousands of BMX riders and fans from all countries met at the famous City Hall Square in Copenhagen. A world class BMX show gave a rush of cheering, while the President of the UCI BMX Commission, Abe Schneider, declared the UCI BMX World Championships 2011 open. Afterwards the Danish rock band The Floor Is Made Of Lava was rocking the town with a great free concert.

from the 38 participating countries and a lot of locals clapped and hooted, as the world’s best flatlander Viki Gomez and trial biker Petr Kraus started the opening with a fabulous show on the stage and stairs.
President of the UCI BMX Division, Abe Schneider began his speech with a call to hold a minute’s silence in respect for the tragedy in Norway. Then Schneider welcomed everybody in the Square to what is going to be one of the largest BMX Worlds ever.
While the sound of bike bells filled the space, Schneider stated that Denmark is truly the real bike nation in the world.
After a presentation of all the countries represented in the UCI BMX World Championships 2011 in Denmark med hosted by two famous Danish radio stars, the famous Danish rock band The Floor Is Made Of Lava rocked the town with a great free concert.
